Freestyle at the Motocross - 23 July 2006
G day,

Last weekend I traveled up to the Sunshine coast to do a freestyle show at the last round of the Australian Motocross titles in Coolum.

The show went pretty well considering this was my first ride back after I had injured my ankle and with a lot of rain in the days leading up to the event. I was doubtful that we would be able to ride at all.

So after a long drive from Sydney up to the sunny coast I finally got to my friends place where I was staying, And on this occasion the organiser. Leigh Harriman.

After a little catching up with a few of Harry’s crew Thurs night It was time to get some sleep for press day on the Friday.

When I got to the track on Friday I was surprised to see how little the rain had affected the sand based track and in no time I was gearing up to ride.

The set up was sweet thanks to Harry and track keeper Weldon. I got in a good ride and even got myself on the news that night in lead up to the event on Sunday. Saturday was practice and qualifying, so I had another ride in the morning with Jayden Mulholland who was doing the show also.

Saturday night when we got to bed I could hear the rain coming down all night and we turned up at the track on Sunday to find most of the run up under water.
The first show was at 9 am so that one was pretty much out of the question.

With a lot of work on the Bobcat we ended up getting geared up for the second show scheduled for 1pm.
It was pretty hard to get to and from the ramp because of the mud but we got the job done. I ended up pulling a couple of flips even though the conditions were not the best, and finished with a one hand flip.

The second show was pretty much a repeat of the first and was run after the Pro open final which was won by Daniel Reardon. Craig Anderson was the winner overall.

Ryan Marmont won the Pro Lites, on the day and overall. The boys rode really well in the wet conditions.

I have to say a big thank you to Suzuki for prepping my bike and letting me pit with the race team.
